Job summary

Super Micro Computer is seeking a motivated Production Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes in our Netherlands facility. You will oversee daily production operations, troubleshoot equipment, and drive continuous improvement with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes Lean Six Sigma, data-driven decision making, and collaboration with quality and planning to ensure high throughput and product quality. Proficiency in Excel, Minitab, and Power BI is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or related technical field.
  • 3+ years in production/manufacturing, preferably electronics/high-tech.
  • Experience optimizing production processes and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar improvement methodologies a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP); familiarity with Minitab/Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Production Line Support: oversee daily operations on the production floor for smooth, efficient processes.
  • Provide technical support to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.
  • Process Optimization: analyze and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma best practices across production areas.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting: ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated; diagnose issues.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: collaborate with QC to address issues and ensure safety standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting: maintain records and present daily, weekly, monthly production reports.
  • Team Collaboration & Supervision: guide operators and technicians to improve skills and throughput.
  • Inventory & Resource Management: monitor materials and coordinate with planning for availability.
  • Safety & Environmental Compliance: promote safety culture and regulatory compliance.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Production Engineer with experience in manufacturing, particularly in the electronics or high-tech sector. This role focuses on optimizing production processes, troubleshooting equipment issues, and driving operational excellence while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Production Line Support:
  • Oversee daily operations on the production floor to ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Provide technical support to resolve issues that arise during production and minimize downtime.
  • Process Optimization:
  • Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
  • Ensure all equipments are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot/communicate mechanical, electrical, and software related issues on production equipment.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to identify and address production issues impacting product quality.
  • Ensure all production processes are compliant with relevant safety regulations and company standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine performance, and maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to the Shift Manager.
  • Team Collaboration & Supervision:
  • Work closely with production operators and technicians to monitor and manage workflow.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to the production team to improve skill sets and efficiency.
  • Inventory & Resource Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels of materials, tools, and spare parts to prevent disruptions in production.
  • Coordinate with the planning team to ensure timely availability of required materials.
  • Safety & Environmental Compliance:
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the electronics or high-tech industry.
  • Previous experience in optimizing production processes and working with cross functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis, etc.). Experience with analytical tools/software such as Minitab, Power BI, or other statistical analysis programs is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address production issues quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with production operators, technicians, and cross functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks with a proactive approach.
  • Willingness to occasionally provide support beyond regular working hours in case of production emergencies.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards and safety protocols.
