Job summary

Fortaegis Technologies in Amsterdam is seeking a Product Hardware Engineer with hands-on hardware experience to assemble prototypes, prepare development platforms, validate hardware, and create customer demonstration systems.

You will collaborate with hardware, FPGA, software and ASIC teams to ensure that everyone has the hardware they need to develop, test and showcase technology.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with electronic hardware, embedded systems or lab equipment.
  • Able to assemble, configure and troubleshoot electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with PCB hardware, embedded platforms or FPGA/ASIC systems preferred.
  • Experience using common lab equipment for hardware debugging.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive, hands-on attitude.
  • Comfortable collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow is important.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, configure and validate prototype hardware platforms.
  • Build and maintain development setups for FPGA, firmware and software teams.
  • Prepare customer evaluation systems and demonstration units.
  • Support bring-up and testing of new hardware prototypes.
  • Perform functional validation of boards and identify hardware issues.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing partners to track prototype builds and verify delivered hardware.
  • Assist with internal testing, customer demonstrations and trade shows as needed.

We are looking for a Product Hardware Engineer who has experience building, testing, and bringing products to life. You will play a key role in supporting the development of our products by assembling prototypes, preparing development platforms, validating hardware, and creating customer demonstration and evaluation systems. Working closely with our hardware, FPGA, software, and ASIC teams, you will ensure that everyone has the hardware they need to develop, test, and showcase our technology.

Job requirements
  • Practical experience working with electronic hardware, embedded systems, or lab equipment
  • Comfortable assembling, configuring, and troubleshooting electronic systems
  • High level familiarity with PCB hardware, embedded platforms, or FPGA/ASIC-based systems is preferred
  • Experience using common laboratory equipment for hardware debugging
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on attitude
  • Comfortable working across multiple engineering disciplines in a fast-paced environment
  • A willingness to learn and grow is more important than extensive industry experience

  • Support internal testing, customer demonstrations, trade shows, and other hands-on engineering activities as needed
