Job summary

Boat Bike Tours BV is seeking a Product Development Manager to design travel programs, routes, and day-to-day itineraries that are distinctive, feasible, and profitable. You’ll combine creativity with commercial and logistical insight to turn ideas into market-ready products.

You will lead the full product development cycle, including contracting partners, negotiating hotels and suppliers, budgeting, and ensuring launch readiness with Operations and Sales.

Qualifications

  • HBO level education with relevant experience.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance creativity with practical execution.
  • Commercial insight combined with operational understanding.
  • Structured, organized and quality-driven.
  • English – required (additional languages preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine travel programs, including berths, excursions, hotels, and cycling routes.
  • Create distinctive, guest-centered itineraries that are practical, achievable and fit within the BBT brand.
  • Identify, contract, and negotiate with hotels, local suppliers, and guides.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with operational partners.
  • Work with product budgets and ensure financial balance for each tour.
  • Safeguard feasibility in relation to ship planning, safety, and regional regulations.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales to ensure products are ready for launch, both commercially and operationally.
  • Brief internal teams on new products and ensure a smooth handover to Operations.
  • Develop improvements based on feedback from guides, guests, and partners.
  • Train Sales and Operations teams on new or existing products.

As a Product Development Manager at Boat Bike Tours, you ensure that our travel concepts, routes, and day-to-day programs are thoughtfully designed, distinctive, and operationally feasible. You combine creativity with commercial and logistical insight, turning innovative ideas into profitable and unforgettable travel experiences. In this role, you act as the bridge between product vision, commercial viability, and operational execution.

What you’ll do

You will be responsible for the full product development cycle of assigned programs, including:

Develop and refine travel programs, including berths, excursions, hotels, and cycling routes. Create distinctive, guest-centered itineraries that are practical, achievable and fit within the BBT brand. Identify, contract, and negotiate with partners such as hotels, local suppliers, and guides (ships excluded). Build and maintain strong relationships with operational partners Work with product budgets and ensure financial balance for each tour. Safeguard feasibility in relation to ship planning, safety, and regional regulations. Collaborate with Operations and Sales to ensure products are ready for launch, both commercially and operationally. Brief internal teams on new products and ensure a smooth handover to Operations. Develop improvements based on feedback from guides, guests, and partners. Train Sales and Operations teams on new or existing products.

You will be part of the Product team, where we ensure that our travel experiences are designed with quality, creativity, and operational precision at their core. Together, we collaborate closely with other departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

What we’re looking for
  • Higher professional education level (HBO) with experience in a similar role
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to balance creativity with practical execution
  • Commercial insight combined with operational understanding
  • Structured, organized, and quality-driven
  • English – required (German, Croatian, Dutch – preferred)
