Job summary

Grasso Technology Center Piston Compressors, part of the GEA Group, seeks a Development Engineer to create new compressor designs and bring them to production. You will focus on reliability, energetic efficiency, and cost optimization while coordinating design changes and test programs.

The role requires strong background in mechanical engineering, experience with compressors or rotating equipment, and proficiency in Dutch and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Affinity with compressor thermodynamics, flow dynamics, and rotating equipment.
• Interest in refrigeration and heat pump technologies.
• Experience in developing compressors, combustion engines, or similar mechanical systems is a strong advantage.
• Proficient in Dutch and English (German a plus).
• Experience with simulation tools, 3D design, FEM analysis, and CAD data management.

Responsibilities

• Development, engineering, coordination and implementation of design changes and new designs.
• Performing simulation, engineering calculations and cost price calculations.
• Making sketches, diagrams, 3D models and drawings for quotation, classification and production purposes.
• Making test programs.
• Providing data for manuals and documentation materials.
• Maintenance of design data in PLM system.
• Making and executing of project plans.
