How do you make learning so much fun that children want to keep exploring? At Squla, you combine technology, play and child psychology to design digital learning experiences that broaden children's world. Their enthusiasm, unexpected questions and honest reactions make children a wonderful audience to work for. We are working on a complete renewal of Squla. As a Product Designer, you research what children, parents and teachers need, explore and test new concepts, and develop them together with the team.

You talk to children, parents and teachers, visit schools, and combine observations with behavioral and usage data. You translate insights into opportunities and ideas. You make assumptions explicit and choose suitable experiments and prototypes to explore whether a concept is understandable, appealing and valuable. You develop promising ideas into journeys, flows, interactions and visual designs, with attention to usability, accessibility and consistency. You work with Engineering to develop designs into working product experiences. Where appropriate, you can vibecode yourself to make changes to the product code, with review by Engineering. You use feedback, tests and usage data to assess whether your design works and what can be improved. You work on the full design process: from user research and concept validation to UX and UI design and implementation. You make ideas tangible, develop interactions and visual details, and build the renewed Squla together with the team.

You have 3+ years of experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer or UX/UI Designer and have designed and delivered digital products in a multidisciplinary team. You can conduct research independently: formulate research questions, choose suitable research methods, carry out the research and translate findings into design decisions. You understand the difference between what users say, what they do and what you can conclude from that. You explore multiple ideas before choosing a direction and use prototypes to learn quickly. You have strong UI design, visual design and prototyping skills, preferably with Figma. You can weigh user needs against learning goals, product goals and technical possibilities. You explain your choices clearly, are open to feedback and take responsibility for the quality of your work. You can vibecode and use AI design tools to create concepts, working prototypes and product changes. You critically assess the results and work with Engineering to ensure quality and feasibility. You are proficient in Dutch and English, both spoken and written. You can conduct research with Dutch-speaking children, parents and teachers and clearly share insights with your English-speaking colleagues. In your portfolio, we would like to see how you went from research to insight, concept and validation, which choices you made and what you learned from them. Only candidates with a valid work permit for the Netherlands/EU are eligible for this role.
