Job summary

Worley is seeking Safety Engineers for Hyderabad to support brownfield oil and gas projects. The role covers risk, safety design, and regulatory compliance with customer specs, using local and international standards.

You will contribute to hazard studies, risk assessments, and documentation while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring safety best practices across onshore and offshore scopes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or pursuit is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with engineering, regulatory requirements and customer specs.
• Standardizes equipment specs, drawings, and document templates.
• Contributes to technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specs where viable.
• Uses local/global standards to ensure technical excellence.
• Supports checking, peer reviews and incorporation of comments.
• Ensures onshore & offshore safety practices are adopted.
• Develops design/operational studies in risk, safety and safety & risk.
• Designs Safety & Risk scope of work and conducts design alternative studies.
• Gathers safety and environmental information.
• Prepares Hazard Studies (HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA) and Design HSE reviews.

As a Safety Engineer with Worley,you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

• We areHiringSafety Engineers across multiple levelsto support projects in the Onshore upstream and downstream (Oil and Gas, Petrochemical) experience is required.
• These roles are based inHyderabad, with opportunities aligned to experience, technical capability and project requirements.
• This recruitment is part of aninvite‑only hiring drivescheduled forSaturday, 4th Jul'26,at our Hyderabad office. Interviews will be conductedonly for pre‑screened candidates who receive a formal invitationfrom our Talent Acquisition team.
• Roles will be offered at Engineer or Senior Engineer, depending on experience and skills.
• Compensation and grades will be aligned accordingly. Opportunities may be offered as permanent or fixed‑term contract positions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supports adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
• Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
• Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
• Supports the processes for checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
• Ensure recognised onshore & offshore engineering practices applicable to safety & risk design are adopted.
• Development of design and operational engineering studies in the areas of risk, safety and Safety & Risk.
• Designs Safety & Risk scope of work in contract and stewards design alternative studies, as required, to optimize project cost and schedule.
• Gathering and compiling safety and environmental information.
• Prepares and assists in the execution of: Hazard Studies (HAZID- ENVID/HAZOP/LOPA); HSE Checklist and Design Basis; Design HSE Review such as Human Factors, Hazardous Area Classification, Inherent Safety, Alarm Prioritisation.

Industry Specific Experience:

• Have engineering experience in Brown Field oil and gas related Safety & Risk Design and Engineering.
• Must have 5-18 years experience in the same or similar industry, including experience in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
• Experience in the Middle East, is an advantage.
• Working as a Safety and Risk Engineer (Technical Safety / Loss Prevention) in the Oil and Gas Industry.
• Must have experience in offshore projects.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

• Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering/mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)/CFPS status or undertaking the same will be an advantage.

IT Skills:

• PIPENET, PHAST, SAFETI, PHA Pro, Flaresim, Detect3D (optional), exSILentia (optional).

Key areas of expertise required:

• Active Fire Protection (Firewater demand, hydraulic analysis, P&IDs, PFDs, etc).
• F&G layouts, C/E diagrams.
• Passive Fire Protection.
• Datasheets and specifications, MTO.
• Hazardous Area Classification (Schedule and Drawings).
• Good knowledge of NFPA and International Standards for Technical Safety / Loss Prevention.
• Consequence analysis (gas dispersion, toxic, fires, explosion, vent dispersion, flare radiation modeling).
• Safety Critical Elements and Performance Standards.
• Risk Register / action follow-up and close-out.
• ALARP assessment, Bow-ties, and Cost-Benefit analysis.
