Job summary

Qplox engineering is seeking a senior OS/Middleware Architect to define the next generation of middleware architecture for HarmonyOS and to enable consistent, high-performance experiences across smartphones, PCs and other devices. You will drive the architecture, technical roadmap and evolution of the middleware layer, focusing on cross-platform compatibility and scalable system integration.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with operating systems or middleware, deep OS architecture

You will drive the architecture, technical roadmap, and evolution of the middleware layer, with a focus on supporting multiple ecosystems, improving cross-platform compatibility, and solving complex challenges around performance, stability, scalability, and system integration.

What you will do

• Define the technical vision and long-term roadmap for HarmonyOS middleware architecture.
• Design unified middleware solutions that enable multi-ecosystem coexistence, cross-platform compatibility, and scalability.
• Drive breakthroughs in areas such as memory management, startup performance, system stability, and compatibility.
• Establish architecture standards, engineering practices, automated testing, and quality frameworks.
• Evaluate emerging OS and middleware technologies and incubate capabilities for the next 2-3 years.
• Work closely with engineering and product teams to translate architectural direction into real products and cross-device experiences.

What we are looking for

• Strong hands-on experience with operating systems, system frameworks, or middleware, ideally across platforms such as Android, iOS, Fuchsia, ChromeOS, HarmonyOS, or similar systems.
• You should have a deep understanding of OS architecture and implementation, together with commercial experience designing or evolving large-scale middleware platforms and solving complex system-level challenges.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, and cross-team influence are essential. We are looking for someone who can combine deep systems expertise with architectural vision and turn long-term technology direction into practical results.
