Job summary

IC Resources is assisting a major global semiconductor company in the Netherlands to hire a Hardware / SoC System Architect. You will influence SoC architecture at the whole-chip level, spanning IP, memory, interconnect, clocking and power.

Based in ’s-Hertogenbosch area, the role is onsite three days per week with close collaboration across digital design, verification, software and product teams, driving architecture decisions and formal specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in SoC/system-level architecture across IP, memory, interconnect, clocking and power.
• Ability to translate requirements into architecture and design specifications.
• Experience evaluating platform concepts and architectural options.

Responsibilities

• Translate product and customer requirements into architecture and design specifications.
• Make system-level trade-offs around low power, latency, throughput and performance.
• Define how IP blocks, memory and interconnect fit together across the SoC.
• Evaluate new platform concepts and architectural options.
• Assess bus, cache and overall system performance.
• Collaborate with digital design, verification, software and product teams.
• Produce technical specifications and documentation used throughout development.

I’m working with a major global semiconductor company looking for a Hardware / SoC System Architect to join its connectivity team in the Netherlands.

The team develops connectivity SoCs used across embedded, IoT and industrial applications, supporting technologies including Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi and sub-GHz.

This is a genuine system architecture role with influence over what gets built, rather than simply implementing an architecture that has already been decided.

You’ll work at whole-chip level, looking at how IP, memory, interconnect, clocking and power come together across the SoC.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Translating product and customer requirements into clear architecture and design specifications
• Making system-level trade-offs around low power, latency, throughput and performance
• Defining how IP blocks, memory and interconnect fit together
• Evaluating new platform concepts and architectural options
• Assessing bus, cache and overall system performance
• Working closely with digital design, verification, software and product teams
• Producing technical specifications and documentation used throughout development

What they’re looking for

• An experienced SoC / Hardware / System Architect
• A strong Senior or Principal Digital IC Designer who is already working beyond individual RTL blocks and wants to move into architecture

The key is having a system-level mindset. Your experience should involve areas such as IP integration, interconnect, low power, memory architecture, latency or throughput rather than being focused purely on one RTL block.

Previous RF or wireless experience is not essential.
