Job summary

AFRY in the Netherlands is seeking a Principal to lead business development and project delivery in transaction services and strategic market advisory for our Management Consulting practice. You will work with Dutch energy‑sector clients and collaborate with colleagues across our global platform while helping to grow our Rotterdam office with a seasoned local team.

The role requires an advanced graduate degree and 8–15 years of experience in the Dutch energy sector, a strong advisory track

Qualifications

• Advanced graduate degree (MSc, MBA, PhD) with 8–15 years in the Dutch energy sector.
• Strong advisory track record in energy companies, developers, public sector or grid operators.
• Commercial and strategic mindset with client relationship skills.
• Fluent in Dutch and English with strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects and oversee project teams.
• Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities.
• Shape proposals, sales materials and client pitches.
• Develop thought leadership, intellectual property and client-relevant solutions.
• Contribute to capability building and knowledge development across the team.
• Strengthen AFRY’s presence in industry networks and expert communities.
• Mentor and develop consultants across the team.
• Support internal training and professional development.
• Coach teams in structured problem solving and delivery excellence.
