Job summary

TenneT zoekt een Power System Insulation Coordination Strategist om het Nederlandse transmissienet te versterken en te vernieuwen, zodat betrouwbare en hernieuwbare energie gewaarborgd blijft.

Je werkt in het Team Power Quality, EMC en EMT binnen de System Integrity-divisie, met 12 collega’s, en bewaakt isolatiecoördinatie in complexe netten.

Qualifications

• Master of Science or PhD in Electrical Engineering or vergelijkbaar.
• Diepe kennis van isolatiecoördinatie en vermogenseigenschappen en hun toepassing in energiesystemen.
• Goede begrip van vermogensplanning.

Responsibilities

• Uitvoeren en toezicht houden op isolatiecoördinatiestudies ter evaluatie van systeemtechnische prestaties bij netwijzigingen.
• Ondersteunen van spanningskwaliteitsstudies met betrekking tot achtergrondharmonische spanning en snelle spanningsschomelingen.
• Beoordelen van isolatiecoördinatiestudies als onderdeel van de compliance-verificatie en ontwikkelen van interne beleidslijnen.
• Functie als aanspreekpunt tussen System Integrity en Asset Technology.

Within the System Integrity department at Energy System Planning, we work daily to control electromagnetic phenomena, so that the Netherlands can continue to count on a reliable electricity grid tomorrow. In this role as Power System Insulation Coordination Strategist, you can contribute directly to that mission.

Jouw rol

As Power System Insulation Coordination Strategist you contribute to strengthening and renewing the Dutch electricity transmission system, so that the Netherlands can continue to count on reliable and renewable energy.

You will work in the Power Quality, EMC and EMT team within the System Integrity department, consisting of 12 colleagues. Together you work on ensuring that insulation coordination in the power system stays under control, an essential task for a stable and renewable energy system. Within our team there is an open and collaborative atmosphere, where innovation and cooperation are key.

• You are responsible for conducting and supervising insulation coordination studies to evaluate the system technical performance due to grid changes, for example due to the introduction of long cable connections or the transition from meshed to radial operation in our high voltage networks, and identify effective mitigation options.
• You support power quality studies relevant to the evaluation of amplification of background harmonic voltages, harmonic propagation and rapid voltage changes.
• You are responsible for reviewing insulation coordination studies as part of the compliance verification process and for developing and maintaining internal policies relevant to insulation coordination.
• You act as the contact point between System Integrity and Asset Technology in relevant topics.

What do you offer?

• A finished Master or PhD education in Electrical Engineering or comparable.
• Deep knowledge of insulation coordination and power quality and their application in power systems.
• Good understanding of power system planning.
• Experience with PSCAD and DIgSILENT Power Factory is a must.
• Experience with EMTP-ATP or EMTP-RV is an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the power systems sector.
• This position requires excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.
