Job summary

Sensata Technologies in Hengelo, Netherlands, is seeking an Applications Engineer, Power Conversion Systems. You will provide technical leadership and customer-facing expertise to guide system design across pre- and post-sales lifecycle, partnering with sales, product management and engineering.

You will translate customer priorities—efficiency, redundancy, grid interaction, and scalability—into practical, compliant solutions, leveraging power electronics expertise and experience with CRM tools;

Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast‑paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to approximately 30%.
• Demonstrated experience and strong working knowledge of power electronics.
• Proficiency with CRM tools; Salesforce experience preferred.
• Familiarity with rectifiers, power systems, and/or defense industry applications is a plus.
• Able to speak English & German.

Responsibilities

• Leads the process of providing technical sales support to assure successful customer integration of organization products.
• Pre‑sales activities include gaining understanding of customer's business and analysis of customer's system and product needs.
• Leads the preparation and presentation of technical proposals of how organization's products can meet those needs and be integrated and implemented with customer's systems and equipment.
• Handles the preparation and presentation of customer systems/equipment needs plan to organization teams to assure complete plan is feasible within cost, time, and environment constraints.
