Job summary

Amazon Development Center (Netherlands) is seeking a database-focused engineer for the RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL team. You will work on PostgreSQL as a fully managed service, collaborating with developers, product managers, and program managers to shape features and validate implementations.

You will engage in design discussions, code reviews, and cross-team collaborations to deliver high-impact solutions for a large customer base, including database developers and administrators.

Qualifications

• Experience in Postgres, or experience in software development.
• Knowledge of database concepts and queries.
• Ability to communicate with engineers and product managers.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with customers to understand challenges and resolve critical escalations.
• Act as the voice of the customer to influence engineering design and end-to-end test scenarios.
• Drive feature enhancements and root-cause analysis to improve the managed DB service.
• Be a subject matter expert for databases and collaborate with multiple teams and open-source communities.
• Interact with the broader AWS ecosystem and extend knowledge to other database engines.
