Job summary

Amazon Development Center (Netherlands) B.V. is seeking a database-focused engineer to help enhance PostgreSQL in our managed RDS service.

You’ll collaborate with developers, product managers, and customers to shape features and ensure reliability across the PostgreSQL ecosystem. You will engage in design discussions, code reviews, and cross-functional initiatives while extending knowledge to other database engines.

Qualifications

• Experience in Postgres or software development
• Experience in data engineering is a plus

Responsibilities

• Work closely with customers and engineering teams to understand challenges and resolve escalations.
• Influence engineering to design new features and end-to-end test scenarios.
• Drive feature enhancements and root-cause analysis to improve the managed database service.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for databases, aiding development, support, and customers.
• Engage with the open-source community via forums, conferences, and code contributions.
• Extend knowledge to other database engines beyond PostgreSQL.
