Job summary

Adyen is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (RDS) to join our Platform Engineering team. You will help shape the resilience, performance, and developer experience of our internal DBaaS, providing PostgreSQL to product teams across the company.

You’ll design an internal cloud platform on OpenStack VM clusters, build automation and tooling, and collaborate with Compute, Networking, and Storage teams to deliver regional HA, automated failover, and scalable stateful systems.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Linux networking, file systems and kernel tuning.
• Experience with Go or Python code for infra automation.
• Experience running PostgreSQL or similar at scale.
• Strong root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
• Ability to communicate complex infra concepts to engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop internal DBaaS offering and automate the entire lifecycle of a database, from provisioning to upgrades.
• Architect for high availability and disaster recovery across platforms with regional HA and automated failover.
• Dive into performance bottlenecks at kernel, network, or database level and identify root causes.
• Build tooling to abstract complexity of large-scale stateful systems for product engineers.
• Participate in on-call rotation and reduce toil while improving reliability.
