Job summary

Maastricht University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher: Reset Aged Vascular Function at CARIM. You will investigate mesenchymal cell metabolism and ageing using multi-omics and functional assays to identify targets that reset fibroblast function and delay vascular ageing and cardiovascular disease.

You will join Prof. Sluimer's group in the Pathology department and CARIM within UM (Maastricht University Medical Center+), contributing to cross-disciplinary research, supervising

Qualifications

• PhD in Biology, Health Sciences or Medicine.
• Demonstrable research experience in cardiovascular biology and vascular ageing.
• Experience with metabolism assays, small animal models, or myography.
• Proficient in English; able to work in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and perform experiments with cells, and tissues related to expression detection, function and metabolism of fibroblasts
• Design, plan and perform experiments with small animal models to study vascular ageing, hypertension and/or atherosclerosis
• Communicate results and ideas to colleagues and at conferences
• Supervise BSc/MSc/PhD-students
• Contribute to teaching activities for BSc/MSc students
• Contribute to grant developmentOptional: Analyse single cell sequencing datasets (R (i.e. Seurat) or Python)
