Job summary

Utrecht University invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral research position on Inclusive Governance within the Prince Claus Chair, with a focus on equity and development in Suriname. The postdoc will balance research with organizational duties, working closely with the chairholder and UU IOS/USG teams.

The role requires a PhD in a relevant field, fluency in Dutch and English, and strong qualitative and quantitative methods.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field.
• Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
• Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Interest in governance, equity and development, with global perspectives.
• Experience with interdisciplinary research projects.
• Strong social and organizational skills including project management.

Responsibilities

• Design research approaches and methodologies for Inclusive Governance in Suriname and beyond.
• Develop research proposals, instrumentation, design, sampling, data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Publish and disseminate findings to international academic and practical audiences.
• Engage in editorial work related to writing and publishing a book on public governance and administration in Suriname.
