Job summary

Qabird seeks a postdoc to advance redox mediated solutions for ultra-long‑duration energy storage. You will investigate iron-based complexes and Prussian Blue analogs, develop coatings, and validate materials in cell‑level tests in collaboration with academic and industrial partners.

The role requires a PhD in chemical engineering or applied chemistry, strong electrochemistry expertise, and an excellent publication record, with fluency in English (Dutch a plus).

Qualifications

  • PhD in chemical engineering, applied chemistry or similar.
  • Proven experience in working with electrochemical systems.
  • Proven lab skills.
  • Experience with synthesis of complexes or redox‑active materials is a plus.
  • An excellent publication record.
  • Pro‑active and creative mind‑set.
  • Fluent in English. Speaking Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Study complexes with transition metals (e.g., iron-based) and inorganic Prussian Blue analog materials.
  • Investigate coatings and additives to stabilize redox-active particles.
  • Collaborate with universities and industrial partners (Aquabattery, Elestor, Ore Energy).
  • Demonstrate redox flow battery technology at cell level.
