Job summary

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam’s Connectome Lab seeks a postdoctoral researcher to study neuroimaging, neurodiversity and brain evolution. You will work with MRI, DWI, and resting-state fMRI data, developing pipelines and applying advanced analyses while collaborating with CNCR and international teams.

The role emphasizes independent and collaborative work, open science, reproducible workflows, and teaching activities. Dutch proficiency is valued for teaching involvement.

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience or a related quantitative discipline with extensive neuroimaging experience.
• Hands-on experience with neuroimaging analysis and multiple software packages.
• Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, R and Bash; reproducible pipelines.
• Experience with large datasets, AI/LLM, and HPC is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale structural and functional MRI datasets and develop pipelines.
• Apply cortical reconstruction, tractography and connectome analyses.
• Investigate brain variation, diversity and evolution across species.
• Use AI/LLM to mine large neuroimaging datasets and collaborate across teams.
• Supervise MSc and PhD students and contribute to publications.
