Job summary

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the Connectome Lab in CNCR. You will work on neuroimaging-based studies of brain variation, evolution, and cross-species analyses, applying advanced computational methods and LLM-enabled analytics.

You will analyse large MRI datasets, develop pipelines for connectome analysis, and collaborate with researchers across neuroimaging, AI, genetics and psychology.

Qualifications

• PhD in neuroscience, neuroimaging, computational neuroscience, biomedical engineering, physics, CS, AI, maths, or related field.
• Extensive hands-on neuroimaging analysis experience is essential; multiple techniques listed below.
• Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, R and Bash; reproducible pipelines important.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale structural MRI, diffusion MRI and resting-state fMRI datasets.
• Develop pipelines for cortical reconstruction, tractography, functional connectivity and connectome analysis.
• Investigate inter-individual variation and neurodiversity in brain structure and connectivity.
• Utilize LLM and ML to mine and analyze large datasets.
• Perform comparative analyses of human and non-human brain organization related to evolution.
• Integrate results across imaging modalities and datasets; promote reproducible workflows.
• Supervise MSc and PhD students and collaborate within CNCR and international networks.
• Prepare publications and present findings at conferences.
