Job summary

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) is seeking a Postdoctoral researcher to coordinate the Resilient Roots project. You will oversee progress monitoring, coordinate case studies in four European cities, and conduct research on how nature-based schoolyards support community use and wellbeing.

The role involves leading publications, reporting, and collaboration with international partners; the position is 0.8 FTE, initially 12 months with possible extension up to three years.

Qualifications

• PhD (nearly finished) in a related field such as environmental psychology, sociology, geography, urban studies, or health sciences.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Dutch preferred for interviews with Dutch stakeholders.
• Experience in designing, conducting, and reporting qualitative and quantitative research.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the Resilient Roots project, including progress monitoring and reporting.
• Conduct research on nature-based schoolyards to assess community use and wellbeing.
• Lead scientific publications and contribute to project deliverables.
