Job summary

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam invites applications for a Postdoctoral researcher (0.8 FTE) to study how nature-based schoolyards support community use and wellbeing. Based in the Netherlands, the role focuses on governance, management and educational/community impact within four European case studies.

The successful candidate will coordinate the project, manage progress reporting, conduct mixed-methods research and lead publications.

Qualifications

• Nearly finished PhD on topic related to nature-based schoolyards or health and wellbeing.
• Excellent verbal and written English; Dutch preferred for stakeholder interviews.
• Demonstrable experience designing, conducting and reporting both qualitative and quantitative research.
• Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to manage activities, timelines and resources.
• Well-informed about national and international scientific, societal and policy developments in the field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the Resilient Roots project and oversee progress monitoring and reporting.
• Conduct research including case studies, observations, surveys and stakeholder interviews; lead participatory co-design of strategies.
• Lead scientific publications arising from the research and contribute to project deliverables.
