Job summary

Delft University of Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to explore hard/soft concrete composites using 3D-printed scaffolds and a chitinous fungal network. The project sits in the Materials & Environment section of the Department of Materials, Mechanics, Management & Design.

You will combine modelling with experiments, advance numerical models ( Abaqus), and publish results with an international team.

Qualifications

• PhD in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with publications.
• Experience with mechanical testing and/or numerical modelling (Abaqus) preferred.
• Strong communication and English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test architectures for 3D-printed concrete scaffolds.
• Combine modelling with experiments to evaluate mechanical performance.
• Collaborate with TU Delft Materials & Environment team.
