Job summary

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to advance nature-driven building skin concepts within the Nature 4 Homes project, starting November 2026. The position is a temporary 18-month contract, 32–38 hours per week, in Delft, the Netherlands.

You will develop foundational work on facade characteristics, build KPI databases, and contribute to publications, workshops, and consortium deliverables across disciplines with industry and public

Qualifications

• PhD in building engineering, meteorology, civil engineering, or related fields.
• Demonstrable affinity and interest in the built environment and climate change.
• Excellent collaboration with academic, scientific, and industrial partners.
• Experience with co-creation, societal aspects, or human perception of the built environment.
• Dutch language proficiency is a plus.
• Available to start on December 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to foundational work on conceptualization of nature-driven building skin (facade) solutions.
• Develop a structured database with KPI and protocols across disciplines.
• Contribute to publications, project deliverables, workshops, and interviews with consortium partners.
• Bridge academic concepts with professional and societal perspectives via interviews and co-design workshops.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners from academia, society, and industry; integrate citizen science with living labs.
