Job summary

University of Groningen invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the Green Chemical Reaction Engineering group led by Prof. Peter J. Deuss.

The project focuses on characterizing and converting carbon streams to mesophase carbon and graphitic materials for carbon fibre applications, based on waste plastics. You will work at the Zernike Campus in Groningen and collaborate with partners across academia and industry.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical or related sciences.
• Experience with carbon-based materials and their characterization.
• Knowledge of handling different reactor setups.
• Experience with working safely in a chemical laboratory environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute experimental work as described in the project.
• Communicate findings to the project team in reports and presentations.
• Participate in research activities and help maintain laboratory facilities.
• Contribute to overall project goals in collaboration with partner institutions.
