Job summary

Delft University of Technology is seeking a Post-doctoral researcher to develop a Whole Life Cycle decision-support framework for climate-responsive buildings and in-between spaces. The role is part of the Horizon Europe WEAVE project, within the Architectural Facades and Products research group, and involves collaboration across European partners to advance low-carbon renovation strategies.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in architecture, building technology, façade engineering, or similar disciplines.
• Affinity with sustainability standards, LCA, and circular economy in construction.
• Motivation to develop innovative methods addressing real-world challenges in sustainable and resilient renovation.
• Experience with research acquisition and project management.
• Strong analytical skills and interest in interdisciplinary research.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent planning and scientific rigor.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a Whole Life Cycle decision-support framework.
• Develop methodologies for climate-responsive in-between spaces in low-carbon renovation.
• Evaluate archetypes for climatic performance, circularity, and buildability.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, municipalities and industry partners across Europe.
• Contribute to practical design methods and digital decision-support tools within WEAVE.
