Job summary

Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) is seeking a PhD researcher for the Horizon Europe CLIMABUILD project. You will develop uncertainty-aware life-cycle modelling methods to support robust renovation choices and communicate results to stakeholders through an explainable decision-support framework.

Qualifications

  • MSc degree in Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Building performance simulation, lifecycle assessment, or climate resilience knowledge.
  • Experience with uncertainty quantification and risk modelling desirable.
  • Experience with programming and data analysis (e.g., Python).
  • Excellent English communication skills proven by TOEFL/IELTS.
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop uncertainty-based life-cycle modelling methods for renovation decision-making.
  • Integrate climate risks, indoor comfort, sustainability, and uncertainties into a decision framework.
  • Perform probabilistic modelling, Monte Carlo simulations, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Collaborate with TU Delft research groups and contribute to CLIMABUILD outcomes.
