Job summary

Utrecht University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to lead an AI-enabled recommender system project for healthy urban (re)design. You will integrate street-view imagery, GIS data, mobility data, and qualitative insights to generate evidence-based recommendations for policymakers and planners.

You will work with a transdisciplinary team, ensure model explainability and robustness, and contribute to an interactive web interface and to high-quality publications.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience with AI and ML methods relevant to geospatial or image data.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of an AI-enabled recommender system for urban (re)design.
• Integrate multi-source datasets (street-view imagery, GIS, mobility data, qualitative insights).
• Apply state-of-the-art AI and ML models with fine-tuning for the project.
