Job summary

University of Twente is seeking a chemist/chemical engineer/materials scientist for a 4-year post-doctoral position to lead resin formulation challenges in the Direct Bubble Writing foam printing project. You will formulate resins for stiff, lightweight parts with minimal post-processing and collaborate with process-development teams.

The role requires a PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science.
• Excellent analytical skills and strong problem-solving ability.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is preferred.
• Interest in additive manufacturing and connecting fundamentals to applications.
• Experience with material characterization and/or resin formulation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the formulation challenges of the foam printing resins.
• Focus on formulating resins to enable printing of stiff, light, dampening parts with minimal post-processing.
• Collaborate with team members to understand fluid mechanics and process integration.
• Contribute to integration of printed foams with composites and scaling efforts.
