Job summary

Flexport is seeking a Software Engineer II to own projects within the Platform team, delivering improvements end to end for our developer experience. You will design and ship tooling, pipelines, and platform services used by hundreds of engineers across the organization.

You will collaborate with senior engineers to ship features, reduce friction, and drive ownership from idea through production, while helping teammates unblock and learn as the platform evolves.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of software engineering experience.
• Full-stack curiosity across backend and frontend pipelines.
• Hands-on with CI/CD, Kubernetes, and build tooling.
• Strong problem understanding and clear communication.
• Ownership from idea to production rollout.

Responsibilities

• Own projects within the developer platform and help evolve the tooling.
• Build paved paths and self-serve tooling to make the right thing easy.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite, GitHub Actions).
• Improve backend and frontend developer experience through scoped projects.
• Contribute to GraphQL and gRPC ecosystem: middleware, federation, codegen.
• Contribute to IAM solutions and primitives to simplify security by default.
• Help engineers use container orchestration (Kubernetes) and observability stack.
