Job summary

Rewire is seeking a Platform Engineer to own and evolve its internal IT landscape. You’ll support employees, automate operations, and build scalable systems across Windows and macOS devices, Microsoft 365 services, and cloud tooling.

Join a dynamic team: grow from operations into design and architecture, collaborating with Cloud & Platform Engineers on shared infrastructure and CI/CD integrations in a hybrid Amsterdam environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM or related field.
  • 1–3 years in IT operations, system engineering, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft ecosystem and device management.
  • Familiarity with cloud concepts, GitLab, and CI/CD basics.
  • Experience with permissions/IAM/SSO and security best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Own and operate Rewire’s internal IT landscape including Microsoft 365 services.
  • Provide first-line support for internal employees and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Automate internal operations with self-service workflows and scripts.
  • Manage end-user hardware across Windows and macOS devices.
  • Design and enforce best practices for access models, backups, logging, and tooling.
  • Collaborate with Cloud & Platform Engineers on shared infrastructure and CI/CD.

You’ll start close to operations and grow toward system design and architecture, while working alongside experienced Cloud Engineers to continuously improve our internal platforms.

Where you’ll make a difference

Ownand operate Rewire’s internal IT landscape – manage and improve Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Intune, Purview, and Defender

Bethe first line of support for internal employees – resolve issues efficiently

Automateinternal operations – build self-service solutions, scripting workflows, and permission models that scale

Manageend-user hardware – oversee Windows and macOS devices, hardware inventory across offices

Designand enforce best practices within the company’s landscape – on topics such as access models, backup & recovery, logging, PIM & PAM tooling

Collaboratewith Cloud & Platform Engineers – grow your architectural skills by working on shared infrastructure, CI/CD integrations, and AWS-connected systems

Job Requirements

You’re proactive, structured, and curious – someone who likes ownership and wants to understand how systems really work. You’ll thrive with us if you bring:

Degree from a University of Applied Sciences or higher in STEM. (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics, or other engineering or technical disciplines)

1-3 years of practical experiencein IT operations, system engineering, or a similar role, with hands‑on experience in theMicrosoft ecosystem(Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Intune, Purview, Defender, Cloud Apps) and managingWindows and macOSdevices using tools such as Intune, Jamf, or similar

Scripting skillsin PowerShell, Bash/Shell, or Linux, with Python as a plus, and familiarity withcloud concepts, GitLab, and basic CI/CD concepts

Understanding ofpermissions, IAM, SSO, and least‑privilege security models,as well asbasic knowledge ofTerraform, networking concepts, and REST APIs

A hands‑on, growth mindset– you take ownership of your work, embrace challenges, and dive confidently into new platform technologies or complex technical problems

Effective communication skillsand acollaborative spirit– you enjoy working in teams, explaining technical concepts clearly, and supporting a positive, inclusive work environment

Where you’ll work

Most of your work will focus on Rewire’s internal environment. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues from our Amsterdam and German offices. Rewire operates ahybrid working model, with an expectation to bein the office three days per week.
