Job summary

Dümmen Orange is seeking a Research Assistant Phytopathology to support phytopathology projects and maintain the Phytopathology facilities at the Breeding Technology Centre in De Lier. You will execute bioassays, conduct lab experiments, and help ensure smooth operations in collaboration with the technical team.

You bring a Bachelor’s degree in plant science or biology, show proficiency in Dutch and English, hold or be willing to obtain a crop protection license, and live within commuting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in plant science or biology.
• Dutch and English language proficiency, both written and verbal.
• Valid chemical spraying license (crop protection) or willingness to obtain one.
• Residence within acceptable travel distance of De Lier, Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Execute phytopathology bioassays by inoculation, maintenance and scoring.
• Perform experiments in the laboratory.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities to create more efficient workflow processes.
• Lead in smooth running of facilities by frequent collaboration with technical team and third parties.
• Support Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.
• Effectively plan activities according to project plans and timelines.
