Job summary

Canon Production Printing in Venlo, Netherlands, seeks a Physics researcher/designer in R&D to bridge theoretical physics and practical applications, focusing on fixation processes in printer engines.

You will work with software, mechanics and electronics experts to solve complex technical challenges and propose concrete redesigns to optimize fixation in specific printer engines across a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • A PhD or master's degree in physics.
  • A strong technical background and eagerness to learn.
  • A combination of experimental and modelling skills to understand the physics of the fixation process by performing experiments on test setups, as well as the ability to capture the knowledge in models.
  • Outstanding people management skills, with the ability to influence and motivate people.
  • Team builder with strong planning and project management skills, a proactive attitude and experience in extensive stakeholder management.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and a strong results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

  • Steering development of the fixation modules needed to develop state-of-the art printer engines.
  • Understanding the fixation process to balance this process in the context of the complete printer engine.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary teams delivering a working print process that enables new applications for graphics and industrial printing.
