Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam’s Center for Neurogenomics and Cognitive Research (CNCR) invites a Master in Neuroscience graduate to join a PhD project on revealing molecular and cellular mechanisms of schizophrenia. The role involves working with human brain samples, mouse models, and patient-derived cells.

Qualifications

• Master diploma in Neuroscience or equivalent.
• Background in molecular biology and/or biochemistry; lab skills required.
• Experience with bioinformatics analysis and/or statistics on large datasets.
• Team player with excellent social and communicative skills.
• Strong interest in neuroscience research.

Responsibilities

• Join a team to study brain diseases using human samples and mouse models.
• Perform laser capture dissection and protein isolation.
• Quantify proteins with mass spectrometry-based workflows.
• Analyze data and perform bioinformatics analyses.
• Conduct intervention studies in human neurons.
