Job summary

University of Twente ITC Faculty seeks a Doctoral Candidate to develop spatial statistics for integrating IoT sensor data and remote sensing data to enable nature-inclusive solutions in tree crop diseases. You will set up IoT networks on cocoa farms in Ghana and address data integration challenges across multi-temporal and multi-spatial scales.

The role requires an MSc in a relevant field, strong Python/R skills, and ability to work in an international team.

Qualifications

• MSc in geoinformation science, earth observation, spatial statistics, or similar.
• Experience with multi-temporal and multi-spatial data integration.
• Ability to code in Python or R for data analysis and model deployment.
• Strong written and spoken English; able to work in an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop spatial statistical methods for integrating IoT and remote sensing data.
• Set up IoT sensor networks on cocoa farms in Ghana.
• Address data alignment and quality challenges in spatio-temporal data.
• Collaborate with project partners and contribute to Open Science and FAIR data practices.
