Job summary

Utrecht University invites applications for a PhD position in Medical Sciences focusing on GenAI-enabled HTA for medicines. This 40-hour-per-week temporary research role explores GenAI use across the HTA lifecycle and develops practical tools for assessors.

You will collaborate with ZIN, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and UU, engaging with policy officers and international experts. Applicants should hold an MSc in related fields and demonstrate strong English skills; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• MSc in pharmaceutical or (bio)medical sciences, health economics and/or HTA, epidemiology, data sciences or a related field.
• Ability to learn and apply quantitative and qualitative methods within HTA.
• Interest in cross-disciplinary work within HTA.
• Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Dutch is advantageous for interactions with Dutch HTA stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Map current and future GenAI use across the HTA lifecycle of medicines.
• Assess GenAI tools for extraction, harmonisation and analysis of HTA reports.
• Develop how GenAI links methodological needs of HTA bodies to new methods.
• Study how health tech developers use GenAI in submissions and what it means for assessment.
• Apply quantitative descriptive and qualitative analyses and related methods.
