Job summary

Utrecht University invites applications for a PhD position in Generative AI in Health Technology Assessment (HTA). The project maps GenAI use across the HTA lifecycle and translates insights into practical tools for HTA assessors.

Collaboration with ZIN, Erasmus University Rotterdam and UU aims to bridge research and policy in this evolving area. The position spans 18 months with potential extension to four years, salary €3,204–€4,051 monthly (CAO NU, scale P).

Qualifications

• MSc in pharmaceutical or (bio)medical sciences, health economics and/or HTA, epidemiology, data sciences or another relevant field.
• ability and enthusiasm to learn and apply quantitative and qualitative methods within HTA.
• communication skills in English essential; Dutch knowledge is a big advantage.

Responsibilities

• Map GenAI use across the HTA lifecycle of medicines and assess how international HTA bodies anticipate its impact.
• Evaluate how GenAI tools extract, harmonise, and analyse information from HTA reports across jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with HTA policy officers and academic experts to advance HTA methodology and submissions.
