Job summary

Utrecht University invites applications for a PhD position focusing on how generative AI can support Health Technology Assessment (HTA) of medicines. The PhD maps GenAI use across the HTA lifecycle, develops evaluated tools for HTA assessors, and collaborates with national and international partners within the Academic Research Network HTA.

You will work 18 months with extension possible to four years, earning a gross monthly salary under CAO NU with holiday pay and year-end bonuses, plus

Qualifications

• MSc in pharma/HTA or related field.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative methods skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Map GenAI use across the HTA lifecycle for medicines.
• Assess GenAI data extraction and harmonisation from HTA reports.
• Link GenAI needs to existing HTA methods and policy questions.
• Analyze how GenAI is used in HTA submissions by developers.
• Employ mixed methods: document analysis, descriptive and complex systems analyses.
