Job summary

The University of Amsterdam invites a doctoral candidate to join REGULAIRE, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions network, to study enforcement dynamics around systemic actors in digital regulation. The PhD is hosted by IViR, Amsterdam Law School, with supervision from UM and partner institutions.

Applicants should hold a Master's degree, demonstrate interest in the law and digital tech, and show capability in qualitative regulatory process tracing and interviews.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent with access to doctoral studies.
• Demonstrable interest in studying law and digital technologies.
• Experience or interest in qualitative regulatory process tracing and interviews.

Responsibilities

• Refine research questions and design with supervision, and prepare ethics, data-management and open-science materials.
• Collect, manage and analyse research data using approved methods.
• Complete a doctoral thesis and related outputs under REGULAIRE plan.
• Participate in local and network-wide training, cohort activities and reviews.
• Undertake three-month intersectoral secondment and contribute to DSA Observatory.
