PhD Position Learning and Control for Complex Large-Scale Systems with Applications in Greenhouses at TU Delft is focused on developing learning-based and model-based control strategies for climate and energy optimization in controlled environments.

Qualifications

  • Completed a MSc degree in systems and control, applied mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background or interest in systems and control, applied mathematics, machine learning, and affinity with biological systems applications.
  • Some experience conducting, designing, and/or managing experiments for physical/biological systems is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop learning and control methods for complex large-scale greenhouse systems.
  • Carry out research within the GreenControl project to enable crop-centric control.
  • Design and validate control-oriented models and data-driven control algorithms.
  • Collaborate with consortium partners and participate in experiments and trials to validate control concepts.
  • Publish results and contribute to doctoral research outputs.
