Job summary

Werkenbijumcg Groningen invites applications for a PhD candidate to coordinate and conduct clinical studies on bacteria-targeted fluorescence and PET imaging of infections, focusing on trauma patients. The project spans Nuclear Medicine, Medical Microbiology and Trauma Surgery to translate new tracers into clinical practice.

Responsibilities include coordinating the research project, participating in multidisciplinary meetings, and performing clinical studies with new tracers.

Qualifications

• MSc in medicine, biomedical engineering, (micro)biology or biotechnology.
• Good oral and written command of English.
• Good communication skills, especially for interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Experience with imaging tracers (optical cameras), near-infrared fluorescence imaging, PET imaging and conducting clinical studies is preferred.
• Experience with scientific research and writing scientific articles is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and carrying out a scientific research project.
• Actively participating in multidisciplinary meetings and project teams.
• Perform clinical studies on new bacteria-targeted tracers for infection detection (both fluorescent and PET).
