Job summary

University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG) seeks a motivated PhD candidate to coordinate and conduct clinical studies on bacteria-targeted fluorescence and PET imaging of infections, focusing on patients with severe traumatic injuries.

You will contribute to development, implementation and clinical evaluation of novel tracers under GMP conditions, working in a multidisciplinary team across Nuclear Medicine, Medical Microbiology, and Trauma Surgery, with a PhD training program and a competitive

Qualifications

• MSc in medicine, biomedical engineering, (micro)biology or biotechnology.
• Good oral and written English.
• Experience with imaging tracers, near-infrared fluorescence imaging and PET imaging is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and carry out a scientific research project.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and project teams.
• Perform clinical studies on new bacteria-targeted tracers for infection detection (fluorescent and PET).
