Job summary

Maastricht University invites applications for a four-year PhD position in Explainable AI and Foundation Models for CT Imaging. You will develop and evaluate novel methods for explainable AI in medical imaging, with emphasis on diffusion-model-based explanations and foundation models.

You will work in the Department of Precision Medicine, within GROW and the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, in an interdisciplinary, international setting.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in AI, CS, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong ML/deep learning background with image analysis experience.
  • Proficiency in Python for ML experiments and reproducible research.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate explainable AI methods for CT imaging.
  • Design, train, and validate foundation models for CT images.
  • Publish results and contribute to external validation efforts.
