Job summary

University of Groningen invites applications for a PhD candidate in Neuroscience focusing on EEG, neurobiology, and precision medicine. The project integrates systematic reviews with empirical EEG analyses and hypothesis-driven research across multiple clinical contexts.

You will develop expertise in EEG methodology, quantitative analysis, and transdiagnostic biomarker research within an international, multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in neuroscience, biomedical sciences, or related field.
• Strong interest in human neurobiology and EEG research.
• Experience with quantitative research and statistical analysis.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct a systematic review of EEG measures related to reward, motivation, and impulsivity.
• Develop EEG analysis pipelines and quality-control procedures.
• Analyze EEG data across cohorts and clinical datasets.
• Test hypotheses linking EEG measures with neurobiological markers.
• Publish findings in scientific journals and present at meetings.
