Job summary

The Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam seeks a PhD candidate for a 36-month fully funded MSCA research position. The project identifies regulators of smORF-derived cancer antigen presentation using pooled CRISPR screening and a novel dual-reporter system, integrating interfaces with immunology and cancer biology.

The candidate will undertake a three-month secondment at MyNeo in Ghent (Belgium) and enroll as a PhD candidate at Erasmus University Rotterdam, joining a collaborative ORFeus

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related life-science field.
  • Hands-on mammalian cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques.
  • Desirable: experience with CRISPR screening, immunology or mass spectrometry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy a dual-reporter system for smORF translation and HLA surface presentation.
  • Screen regulatory factors across translation and antigen-processing pathways.
  • Validate top candidates using immunopeptidomics and patient-derived models.
  • Collaborate across the ORFeus network and contribute to the regulatory map.
