Job summary

Maastricht University is seeking a PhD candidate to enhance reflective practice in health professions education and to study coaching in work-based learning. You will identify enablers and barriers and explore how young healthcare professionals and clinical teachers engage with these factors.

The role combines educational research with clinical work in the Department of Internal Medicine at MUMC+. A 12-month contract (0.8 FTE) with potential extension and a competitive salary package are

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Health Sciences, Global Health, Medicine or related field.
• Experience with academic research design, data collection and analysis.
• Experience as intern or resident or in health professions education is an advantage.
• C1 level Dutch and English; interview work and academic communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify enablers and barriers for coaching in work-based learning.
• Explore implementation directions for effective coaching practices.
• Combine PhD research with clinical work within the Department of Internal Medicine.
• Collaborate with residents and clinical teachers.
