Job summary

ViCentra is seeking a People Operations Lead to build and scale a full People Operations function in a fast‑moving MedTech environment. You will lead a two‑person team while staying hands‑on in day‑to‑day operations, shaping processes, and enabling growth with data‑driven decisions.

You will own onboarding/offboarding, payroll processing, policy development, and government mobility coordination, ensuring compliance with Dutch labour laws and data integrity across HRIS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in people operations or similar role.
• Experience leading or coaching a small team.
• Background in payroll, HR policies and labor law.
• Familiarity with HRIS and data reporting.
• Fluent English; Dutch would be a plus.

Your impact

As People Operations Lead, you will step into an organization with strong ambitions, where People Operations is still very much in a build‑up phase. Many processes have grown organically, are only partially documented, and lack consistency and integration. Structure, standardization, and data‑driven ways of working are not yet embedded and that is exactly where your impact begins. You lead a team of two People Operations professionals, while remaining hands‑on in the day‑to‑day operations yourself.

In this role, you will have both the mandate and the opportunity to build solid foundations. You bring clarity to complexity, design scalable processes, and help shape a fully digitized, automation‑first People Operations environment. You will critically assess existing ways of working, simplify where possible, and rebuild where necessary, always with a focus on sustainability, efficiency, and future growth.

What you’ll take on

In your role, you will:

• Employee Lifecycle Management & Process Improvement: Oversee onboarding, offboarding and contract management, including orientations, documentation, and transitions. Support the development and implementation of people policies and best practices.
• Payroll Management: Manage payroll processing via a third‑party provider, ensuring accuracy, timely payments, and compliance with Dutch labour laws.
• Employee Relations & Compliance: Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring adherence to legislation and company policies.
• Governmental Coordination: Handle mobility topics such as visa applications, relocations, and offboarding. Serve as the main contact for governmental institutions.
• HRIS Management & Reporting: Maintain data integrity in HRIS, generate reports, and support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Team Leadership: Lead, coach and develop two People Operations team members. Set priorities, divide work, safeguard quality and consistency, and create an environment where your team can grow, while staying actively involved in operational work.

What you bring

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in a similar people operations role within a scaling company, including at least 2–3 years of experience leading or coaching others.
• Solid background in HR operations, payroll (local/international), employee relations, Dutch labor law, HR policies, CLA/Non-CLA, and TWV procedures.
• Experience in leading or coaching others, with a hands‑on leadership style: you are comfortable combining leading a small team with doing the operational work yourself.
• Experience with French, German, or UK labor law is preferred.
• Proficiency with HRIS and MS Office; experience handling confidential information.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), Dutch would be a big plus!
