Atlassian is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for the Feedback app within Product Collection in Jira Product Discovery. You will be the first ML engineer on the team, shaping ML foundations, experiments, and production-ready solutions for customer feedback analysis and evidence retrieval.

You will work with product engineers, PMs and design to deliver trustworthy, scalable ML capabilities and establish evaluation practices that inform roadmap and reuse across Product Collection.

Competenze

• Experience delivering applied ML systems in production.
• Strong programming fundamentals in Python and software engineering.
• Practical depth in information retrieval, semantic search, NLP, clustering or LLM-based apps.
• Ability to construct evaluation datasets and run experiments with baselines.
• Sound data judgement: leakage, bias, imbalanced data and overfitting issues.
• Production awareness: latency, cost, observability and data changes.
• Clear communication across product, design and engineering teams.
