Job description

APM Terminals

PURPOSE:

The QA Engineer is responsible for supporting, coordinating, executing, documenting, and reporting quality assurance and testing activities related to automation products and OT deployments. This includes test preparation, test execution, defect registration and follow-up, retesting, evidence management, and readiness validation across all relevant project and product lifecycle phases.

The role helps ensure that automation solutions, OT platforms, control systems, equipment, system interfaces, operational processes, and terminal workflows are verified and validated as an integrated end-to-end solution before being introduced into live operations. Testing may include simulation and emulation, supplier and factory testing, installation verification, commissioning, integration testing, operational testing, user acceptance testing, release validation, go-live support, and post-go-live stabilization.

The QA Engineer works closely with the Quality Assurance Lead, Product Managers, Deployment Leads, terminal stakeholders, engineering teams, OT specialists, and suppliers. The role ensures that test results, defects, quality risks, dependencies, and readiness concerns are accurately documented, communicated, and followed through to resolution.

Formal business and operational acceptance remains with the appropriate accountable stakeholders. The QA Engineer provides the objective test evidence, defect information, and quality status required to support those decisions.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, quality standards, tools, reporting, and knowledge sharing across the organisation.
