Job summary

Timing in Bleiswijk, Netherlands is seeking an Operator for our fresh produce sorting line, focusing on potatoes, vegetables, and fruit. You will sort avocados and mangoes and participate in a comprehensive onboarding process.

During onboarding you will rotate on the sorting line to learn ripeness-based sorting, translate production orders for the team, and support a seven-person sorting crew to meet daily targets, before working with an experienced colleague to operate independently.

• As an Operator, you will thrive in a dynamic production environment within the fresh produce industry, focusing on potatoes, vegetables, and fruit. You will play a crucial role in the sorting process of avocados and mangoes, ensuring smooth and efficient production. During your first week, you will work on the sorting line to gain a comprehensive understanding of the production process. You will sort fruit based on ripeness while learning the operations of the sorting department. After this onboarding period, you will be paired with an experienced colleague who will guide and support you until you are confident to work independently.

  Your responsibilities include working on the sorting line during your onboarding period, sorting fruit based on ripeness; receiving and processing production orders using the computer; translating production orders into clear instructions for the sorting team; supervising a sorting line of approximately 7 employees; and monitoring the quality and progress of the production process. This varied role combines hands‑on production work with team leadership, requiring you to continuously switch between planning, execution, and coordinating your team to meet production targets.
