Job summary

CHEP UK Ltd. is seeking an Operations Lead for our Tiel plant to manage a team of up to 85 colleagues, drive safety, performance, and continuous improvement on shift, and partner with the Plant Manager to achieve plant objectives.

The role requires a strong manufacturing background, a focus on Zero Harm, and the ability to communicate effectively across teams and management. Hybrid work flexibility is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience; NEBOSH qualification or equivalent certifications desirable.
• Experience in production management, safety, quality control, and lean manufacturing training are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership by mentoring, coaching, and guiding employees; address employee relations issues.
• Lead and enhance safety performance on shift; promote proactive safety culture through training and programs.
• Manage shift maintenance activities and coordinate with maintenance team to ensure uninterrupted operations.
• Drive continuous improvement on shift to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor plant costs and yield; collaborate with Plant Manager to optimize performance.
• Address performance and attendance matters with HR; ensure staff meet operational expectations.
• Ensure compliance with CHEP procedures and work instructions.
